The Oregon Sheep Commission may provide funding to individuals or organizations who propose to undertake a project that will enhance the image of Oregon’s sheep industry and Oregon Lamb and Wool products, increase the demand for those commodities, increase knowledge regarding the healthful and useful qualities of these commodities, or for the purpose of pursuing research that may benefit the production, processing and marketing of Oregon Lamb and Wool Products. Commission funds can only be utilized for projects benefiting the industry as a whole.
A request for funding must be received in writing and recipients of Commission funds are required to submit a report on the results of their project. Applicants are welcome to attend a Commission meeting and present their requests in person. Funding requests are generally reviewed by the Commission during the annual budget hearing, held each spring. Contact the Commission office for information about the next meeting date.
